Have a wonderful winter break!

I look forward to seeing everyone back at Open on Wednesday, January 6, 2016!

Bridges trip packets are due immediately upon our return. We also need new copies of the insurance cards. You can take a picture of  itch sides of the insurance cards and email them to ghovinen@jeffco.k12.co.us.

Congratulations Gabe and Tatianna on your election wins!

What a great day!... and a note from Melody.

Students arrived dressed and prepared for today's Ameritowne interviews, and the feedback from all of our guest interviewers was very positive.  Everyone was so impressed with the poise and confidence our IA students expressed during their interview slot.  Students will learn their job during our Friday Community Circle.

Thanks to all the parents who showed up for the mandatory trip meeting.  If you were unable to attend, your child will bring the trip packet home on Thursday.  If possible, fill it out and return it on Friday (paperwork does tend to get lost over vacation).

From Melody-

Original Works report

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Original Works Fundraiser. As you know this money earned in this fundraiser goes directly towards supplies and arts opportunities for your children. One example is this year's IA play. The grand total that we made for the Elementary Arts program this year is $986.00. Wow! Thanks for supporting your child by purchasing their artwork. It means a lot to them that you are interested in what they make. JCOS is such an amazing and artistic community. I am so grateful that we have such a supportive community.

Sincerely,
Melody

Durbin Day is this Friday!

This year we are in a family group with Brandon's Prewalkabout Advising and Benjamin's Walkabout
Advising.  For our community service we will scrub some of those stubborn marks and stains from off of the classroom floors and walls- it's not very romantic, but it is necessary and a great help to our cleaning staff.

Additinally, we will be doing some sharing and team building with all three advisings.

At around 11:30 we will be eating a Thanksgiving feast together in the sixth grade classroom. The sixth grade community is responsible for providing side dishes for the 60(ish) diners.  Please help us out by having your child bring in something tasty to share.  We do not have an oven or a refridgerator, so please make sure the items can be stored and served at room temperature.

After our meal we will be playing some games in the classroom until dismissal.

Fondly,
Gabrielle

Below are some pictures of the prank we played on Benjamin's advising in response to a pirate raid earlier in the week.
