End of the Year Picnic on Tuesday, May 24th.

End of the Year Picnic

On Tuesday, May 24th we are going to have our all school end of the year picnic to celebrate the year and all that we have accomplished together.  The picnic will begin at 10:45 a.m. with giant bubbles and an open mike.  At 11:30 we will start serving lunch, which includes hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, watermelon, chips and a drink for everyone to enjoy.  Parents, grandparents and siblings are welcome to join us in this end of the year celebrationbut please leave your dogs at home!.  The following activities will be set up for people to enjoy once their bellies are full: volleyball, soccer, badminton, 4 square, Frisbee, paddleball, bubbles, jump roping and more.

At around 12:30 p.m., we will be breaking in to mixed age groups and playing some all school games together.  People will have a chance to cool off in the sprinklers, on the slip and slide and in the water fight from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m.  Be sure to bring your swimsuit, a towel and/or a change of clothes.  Sunscreen is another important item to bring and/or wear to the picnic.  If people don’t want to get wet, they can continue playing the other activities that we have set up.  There will be a big clean up of the field at around 2:30 p.m. and the day will wrap up with popsicles for everyone.

If you have any questions, please call and leave a message at #303-982-7056We look forward to a fun day of eating and playing together.  Cross your fingers for good weather!

In order to do Downtown Denver Day and Boondocks, we need adult chaperones/drivers.  Please email Gabrielle at ghovinen@jeffco.k12.co.us if you are interested.

Ukuleles!

The Ukes are coming!

I am so excited to announce that with the money earned this year in our Original Works fundraiser I have purchased 17 Ukuleles. They will be here by the end of the week. These are great entry instruments for elementary students. With them we will do songwriting and lots of singing and playing. Thanks again for supporting the fundraiser.

Start Planning for Your Day Off!

Students are finishing up their projects and will soon be putting all the different components into a magazine. In addition to still learning all the "regular" sixth grade curriculum, students will begin practicing for their Voyage Presentation. As part of the March conference agenda everyone signed up for a presentation time.  Please double check that this time still works for you.
