SSDL Details

I hope everyone is doing well!

A few of you have asked for clarification on the summer project requirements.

First off, anyone of any age can participate.

1.  You need to write a research paper that relates to your main idea.  Please SHARE your research paper with me electronically before the end of July. I'm learning all about guitars so each paragraph is on a different aspect.  So far I'm learning about history, guitar making, and guitar anatomy. I'm making a glossary because there are so many new vocabulary words I'm learning.

2.  You need to DO some sort of a DO.  I'm learning how to play the guitar and I'm comitted to paracticing at least five times a week for at least 30 minutes a time. I'm keeping track of the resources I'm using (in a way, Youtube experts are my consultants for this project) and I write the word "guitar" on my calendar as documentaiton.

3.  You need to create/practice something that you can share during our SSDL celebration.  You can read your research paper or present a project.  You can do a puppet show, show a model, or perform. Feel free to do a demonstration.  Be creative! I'm hoping to be able to play a very basic song on the acoustic guitar. This is NOT like your Voyage presentation- your sharing will only be around five minutes.

4.  You need to show up to our SSDL celebration!  It will be at Gabrielle's house on Saturday, August 15 from 11-2:00.  We will be sharing out SSDL projects.  Lunch will be served (vegetarian and vegan options will be available).  As we get closer to celebration date I will need everyone to RSVP so we can know how much food to prepare!

I've been working on my DO. Are you?

One of my summer SDL projects is to learn to play guitar. My fingertips hurt!
